About

Drew Rieger has over 20 years experience working behind the scenes in theater. He served as Stage Manager, Production Manager, and Orchestral Librarian for Concert Artists of Baltimore, an all-professional orchestra and chorus of over 80 performers. He was also Stage Manager for productions of the Annapolis Opera and Maryland Opera, and well as the Hopkins Symphony Orchestra of The Johns Hopkins University where he was also Assistant Manager. He served on the board of Symphony Number One, a chamber orchestra dedicated to commissioning
and performing new works, Maryland Opera (Vice President), Annapolis Opera, and the Liszt Garrison International Piano Competition. He has organized many concerts, lectures, and fundraising events, and galas for these organizations.

He has written music in many instrumental and vocal genres throughout the last four decades. He studied composition at the Peabody Conservatory of Music while also completing a degree in Environmental Engineering at The Johns Hopkins University. While studying he performed with the Peabody Chorus and Hopkins Glee Clubs. He received a NEH grant to attend the 1997 Aston Magna Academy at Rutgers University where he wrote and performed a one-act musical on the life of Austrian composer Franz Schubert. He is currently working on two other musicals.

Drew Rieger is a Baltimore-based composer and arranger of vocal, orchestral, chamber, and theater music. Having served as vice president, board member, music librarian, production manager, and stage manager for numerous professional orchestras and opera companies, Drew has an insider understanding of every aspect of theater music production.

Drew also loves working on historic houses in his native Baltimore. His restoration work and musical career were recently featured in an internationally-syndicated British television series.
